RACKING SYSTEMS

Drive-In Drive-through Racking

Drive-in/drive-through racking system: perfect for warehouses with homogeneous goods and a large number of pallets per SKU.
Drive-in racking is the simplest and most affordable high-density storage method. It is comprised of multiple racks with a series of lanes accessed by forklifts to deposit or retrieve pallets. Compared to conventional pallet racking, this solution notably increases storage capacity. These racks can have two configurations: drive-in (pallets are loaded and unloaded from the same working aisle) or drive-through (pallets are loaded through the front aisle and unloaded through the rear aisle) Drive-in racking is a LIFO (Last In, First Out) system, meaning that the last pallet stored in a lane is the first one retrieved. Forklifts enter the lanes from one end, place pallets on support rails, and then back out to retrieve pallets from the front of the lane Drive-in and drive-through pallet racking are high-density storage systems that maximize the use of vertical space in a warehouse. They are both designed to store pallets of goods in long, narrow lanes, and they are accessed by forklifts that drive into the lanes to load and unload pallets.

Advantages of Drive-In and Drive-Through Pallet Racking Systems

  • High-Density Storage: Drive-in and drive-through pallet racking can store a large number of pallets in a relatively small area, making them ideal for warehouses with limited space.

  • Efficient Use of Space: These systems eliminate the need for wide aisles between racks, allowing more space to be used for storage.

  • Improved Inventory Control: Makes it easier to track and locate pallets, enhancing overall inventory management.

  • Reduced Labour Costs: Minimizes the need for workers to walk long distances to pick and pack orders, thereby reducing labour costs.

  • Configurable: The depth and height of the racking can be adapted to meet specific customer needs and the characteristics of the goods handled.

  • One or Two Aisles: Can be used with a single aisle (loading and unloading from the front) or with two aisles (loading from the front, unloading from the back).

  • Guiding Elements: Reliable drive-in racks incorporate accessories that facilitate forklift movements and correct pallet positioning.

  • Energy Savings: The smaller footprint reduces the surface area to be cooled in cold storage and freezer warehouses.

  • Easy Inventory Management: Each lane stores a single SKU, simplifying stock control.

  • Different Pallet Types: Accommodates pallets of varying weights and dimensions.

Conclusion:

Drive-in/drive-through racking system offers a cost-effective and versatile storage solution for various industries. Its ease of use, adaptability, and efficiency make it a popular choice for optimizing warehouse space and improving inventory management
